A practical plan for 3 minutes
Write one prompt before starting. In a group, explain what should be ready at zero: one sentence, one example, or the materials for the next activity. Adjust the window when participants need more time to access the task.
The countdown covers the whole interval. It does not signal each example stage separately. If you change the duration, start a new plan for the value shown in the Minutes field.
Start, pause, and reset
- Confirm the minutes and press Test sound. Check the speakers you will actually use.
- Press Start timer. The page counts down to a target finish time.
- Press Pause to hold the remaining time, then Resume to continue.
- Use Reset to return to the selected duration. Reset stops the current session.
Fullscreen enlarges this workspace. Use Exit fullscreen or Escape to return. Keep screen awake requests support from the browser during an active session; check its status because the request may be unavailable.
What happens at zero or after a reload?
At zero, the page shows a completion message and plays a short chime if audio is enabled. It does not automatically restart. Choose Start timer to begin another full countdown.
The session is saved in this browser when local storage is available. Reloading can restore the remaining time, but you must select Test sound again to re-enable audio. If the session ended while the page was closed, it shows that it finished; it cannot ring retroactively at the original deadline.
Use a clock-time alarm for a fixed appointment
A countdown measures a duration from now. To ring at a particular local time, use the online alarm clock. The timer cannot wake a sleeping computer or guarantee an alert from a suspended tab. Keep a separate device alarm for important deadlines.
