The weather panel begins with a city suggestion based on the browser’s time zone. That is a convenient starting point, not proof of your exact location. Many towns share a time zone, and a device can keep an old time-zone setting after travel.
Choose the city yourself
- Open the homepage and expand Weather · Change city below the live clock.
- Search for the city you want. Use the country or region in the results to distinguish places with the same name.
- Select the matching result and wait for the weather status to update.
- Choose Fahrenheit or Celsius in the weather controls. The digital clock’s temperature button can also switch units.
Your selection is saved in this browser when storage is available. You can change it again after traveling or when you want a different city. Choosing a weather city does not require precise device-location permission.
Read the condition as well as the number
The icon summarizes the returned weather condition: clear skies, clouds, rain, snow, fog, or another supported category. The temperature is rounded for the compact display. A small difference between the clock and another service can reflect update time, rounding, or the forecast location rather than a broken clock.
The current weather feed comes from Open-Meteo through a same-origin server endpoint. Open-Meteo’s current conditions are based on weather-model data. Treat the clock as a quick local overview, not as a thermometer at your exact window or an emergency weather warning service.
If the city or temperature looks wrong
First check the selected place name and country. Next check the temperature unit. A Fahrenheit reading can look unexpectedly high if you expect Celsius. Look at the status for the update time before comparing the number with a second service.
If the display shows a dash or an unavailable message, it does not mean the temperature is zero. The site avoids presenting missing or stale data as a current reading. Check your connection and try again later; repeatedly switching faces does not repair a failed weather request.
Weather location, moon location, and clock time
The selected place also supplies location context for the moon details. The main homepage time still follows your device. To compare local times in different cities, open the separate world clock.
On a shared computer, check the saved city before assuming it belongs to the current viewer. If you remove site storage, the saved choice may disappear. Read the privacy policy for details about site storage and external data services, or continue with the moon-phase guide.
